Running open headers is a time-honored tradition among drag racers, but this test shows that a simple collector extension can yield substantial torque gains.

Installation of this slip-on collector extension improved torque production by as much as 24 ft-lbs, and with no loss in peak power. The power curves above 4,800 rpm were identical.
